Research Introduction Middle School Lesson
Teaching basic research skills is a very important task for the school library media specialist, especially in the middle school setting. This lesson was for sixth grade students who have just been introduced to the concept of research. We discussed information on the internet and how not everything is a reliable sources. Then students had the opportunity to explore different sites and compare and contrast the information they found from different sources. This prepared them to see for themselves reliable versus unreliable information and strengthened their own information seeking skills.
